Domestic geese are very social, intelligent animals, with a good memory. They remember experiences with people and animals for a long time after we forgot them. If a stranger enters the yard, the geese do this immediately. Of course, they do not bark, but they are heard through a strong cram and can pinch pretty with the beak. Unlike dogs, however, they cannot be "bought" with food. This is why some farmers prefer to keep geese instead of buying a guard dog.
